Colleague Spotlight
Candace Francis, Health & Safety Consultant
Candace's background
Hi, I’m Candace, one of WorkNest’s Health & Safety Consultants. I joined the company (formerly Ellis Whittam) in January 2019 but have been working within the health and safety industry since 2014.
After graduating university with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, I started my career as an Occupational Health technician. I soon outgrew this role, moving on to become a Health & Safety Consultant.
I enjoy working across various areas, including Fire, Food and General Health and Safety. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with a variety of different organisations throughout my health and safety journey, from schools to restaurants, warehouses, manufacturing and office-based businesses.
A normal day for me would involve visiting my clients to carry out scheduled health and safety audits. I’m passionate about creating strong working relationships and these visits are a great opportunity to do that. It’s really rewarding to work with clients who are motivated to improve health and safety standards, and even more rewarding to see the positive changes develop around you.
When I’m not working, I enjoy sports, travelling and reading. You can usually find me curled up with a good book or on a day excursion with the family. My job can be demanding, so it’s great to unwind and have quality time.

We moved our legal support to WorkNest (formerly Law at Work) having previously used a time and line law firm. It was important, though, that an all-inclusive fee structure did not come at the expense of quality. Thankfully we’ve been delighted with the service we’ve received from WorkNest.”
